Feathered Follies began in 1993 in a garage and grew to open its first retail store on April Fool's Day in 1996.  The store was in downtown Walnut Creek on Locust Street, but alas the new shop was out-grown before the end of a year.  So after only one year in our shop we began to look for another spot that would accomdate us.

So in 2001 we moved to our current location, 3471 Mt Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, California.  We expanded from 1,500 sq. feet to over 3,300 sq. feet.  Our present location provides us with a private parking lot and no ajoining walls with other business', so our noise isn't a problem. 

We breed many of our own birds, at least the smaller species.  For those that we don't breed ourselves, we try to purchase chicks from people who believe in the standards of care that Feathered Follies does.  We do not buy from production breeders!  We want our babies to grow into healthy, happy adults that are emotionally balances.

This web site was actually begun in 2000, and all work was done in-house.  We out grew that also so were fortunate enough to find our current designer and what you see here is the beginning of what will be a great site with a super store that is packed with high quality items for our feathered friends.  Keep checking back.
